There's not many locations that I won't share. But this place, just off Victoria's Great Ocean Road, is one of the few that I like to keep to myself.
First shown to my by Mark Gray it's not easy to find and not too easy to get to. But the reward is that I generally have the place to myself.
The pathway to the location is through quite a fragile environment and I feel even a small increase in foot traffic would create a lot of damage.
The beach at this location has small, tightly packed sand grains and a very shallow slope. So, when the surf is decent (8 seconds or more between waves), there's a few precious seconds where a fantastic mirror reflection is created. Run down the beach, plant the tripod, level the camera and fire away.
